Purim is the holiday celebrating the deliverance of the Jewish people from destruction recorded in the Book of Esther. It is celebrated a bit like Halloween, all of the kids dress up in costumes and at their school they held a parade.
During Purim the people are suppose to be Charitable like Esther and give gifts. But during their celebration they are also suppose to get so drunk that they cannot tell Haman from Mordechai.
One of the things that they eat on this holiday is Oznei Haman or (Haman's ears) they are a delicious pastry filled with chocolate. Yummy! we were fortunate to have a neighbor who brought some over for us to try.
