Yad La'Shiryon Latrun 3/26/13

We spent the morning with a friend and her son at a armored tank museum. It was about a 35 min drive from our house on the way to Jerusalem. There were all sorts of old tanks that use to be used by the Israeli army. The kids were able to climb atop and explore. It is now one of my kids favorite things to do here in Israel.

President Obama 3/20/13

Chris and I were able to go to Jerusalem and see President Obama it was a really neat experience. I have never even seen a President in real life, and to be only 15-20 feet away was exciting. He talked a bit about how we are the people that will give the world an opinion of the US from how they see us act in their Countries.

Tristan and Chris' Birthday 3/3/13

We celebrated Tristan's and Chris' birthday in March of this year and had a really fun day together.
We went to a small zoo in a park and then went on a paddle boat down the river. The kids had so much fun on the boat and it was hard to keep Tristan from just jumping in the water.

Purim 2/21/13

Purim is the holiday celebrating the deliverance of the Jewish people from destruction recorded in the Book of Esther. It is celebrated a bit like Halloween, all of the kids dress up in costumes and at their school they held a parade.
During Purim the people are suppose to be Charitable like Esther and give gifts. But during their celebration they are also suppose to get so drunk that they cannot tell Haman from Mordechai

One of the things that they eat on this holiday is Oznei Haman or (Haman's ears) they are a delicious pastry filled with chocolate. Yummy! we were fortunate to have a neighbor who brought some over for us to try.
