"Oh Paris" Day 1 April 6th 2013

Oh Paris! We fell in Love with Thee!
On our first full day in Paris we woke up early and headed out to figure out the Metro. The smooth system they have set up is very handy and we quickly figured out how to get around.

We got off the Metro and had breakfast at a delicious little cafe, we had grilled Panini's and pastries. The food was to die for! We ended up having 2 breakfasts each day because we couldn't get enough.

Mousse, Eclair,Tarte, Meringue,
Our pastry consumption was quite frightening, but who can help themselves when you see this in the window every time you turn around?

After breakfast we walked down to the Arc de Triomphe, It was such an amazing sight. It is in the center of this huge round-a-bout. you have to get to it by these underground walk ways.
(Oops I forgot to mention that it was absolutely freezing in Paris. And so after breakfast we went to a clothing store and bought me an extra long sleeve shirt and a pair of tights to wear under my clothes. And I was still cold! Darn Israel for having such mild winters ;)

The size of the arch, and the carvings on it are truly amazing.

Our first museum in Paris was the Musee d' Orsay, we saw some amazing sculptures and paintings some by Van Gogh, Cezanne, Millet.

This is a picture of us behind the clock face at the top of the Musee d' Orsay.

Next we skipped over to the Luxembourg Gardens. It was such a cool park and the palace is gigantic. Even though it was winter and all of the trees were bare of leaves it was still a very beautiful place. It must be breathtaking in the summer time.

Not sure how to explain this picture except to say that Chris was completely shocked that there was actually a sculpture of a woman with her clothes ON!

Our evening was spent at the Eiffel Tower, and yes we went all the way to the top.

This is one of the many views from the top (second from the top view point)
